In the latest State of the American Traveler research (which we commissioned with Destination Analysts in January 2011), we discovered that by the end of 2011, 15% of all American leisure travelers will be using an iPad to plan their next trip. A year ago, that figure was at less than 1%.
Fortunately for our clients, we are ahead of the curve by launching several iPad editions of their travel guides. We created the first iPad app edition of a DMO's travel guide with the Colorado Tourism Office's Official State Vacation Guide. And if you visit the Apple iTunes store today, you can download travel-guide editions for Wyoming, Anaheim, Philadelphia, Vancouver and Austin, with more destinations coming online in the next few months.
Our focus on the tablet platform allows our clients to present inspirational and conversion-focused content to this growing audience.
